This article recounts the stages of this troubled story - from the journal’s foundation with the support of the Ruska Akce (a policy developed in Czechoslovakia in 1920s to welcome middle-class Russian refugees), through Kondakov reached Prague in 1923, backed by the Ruská Akce. Here, he drew around him a community of Russian émigré scholars that after his death ideated a periodical devoted to Byzantine culture, Seminarium Kondakovianum, published until 1938.
